So it's only natural that the copycat style of Las Vegas would look to emulate the Monte Carlo, and although this is by no means the real thing, and was constructed to cater more to budget conscious casino players more than to millionaires, it does boast a pretty lavish décor that may remind you of the more famous European casino, and they have done well enough to earn AAA's four diamond award, reserved for only the finest resorts.
The Las Vegas version is certainly a more impressive structure than the original, with their 37 floors compared to the casino in Monte Carlo's two floors. There are over 3,000 hotel rooms here, and the Casino de Monte Carlo doesn't have a hotel, or any other amenities, it's just a casino, although certainly one of great prestige. The Monte Carlo in Las Vegas is done up on a much grander scale though.
The Monte Carlo was originally a partnership between Gold Strike Resorts and Mirage Resorts. During the planning and construction phase, Circus Circus Enterprises acquired Gold Strike, and Mirage also ended up acquiring Circus Circus during this time, giving Mirage full ownership.
